Getting started

How do I make my first call?

Sign in with Google and your free key is shown at once. Send it in the Authorization: Bearer header to any endpoint, for example yesterday's results. The quick start has the call ready in curl, Python, JavaScript and PHP.

Read the quick start: /documentation/quick-start

Can I try a call before writing any code?

Yes. Every endpoint page in the docs has Try it: paste your key once, change any parameter and press Run to see the real answer. Your key is kept in your browser, and the code in four languages follows what you type.

Try it on Games: /documentation/games

What does the free key include?

The free key is a look at the API: yesterday's and today's games and results with the score by quarter, every competition with its current season, and your own usage. It allows 100 calls a day and 10 a minute. Box scores, players, teams and rosters start on Live.

Keys and limits

How do I send my key?

In the Authorization: Bearer header on every call. A key in the address (?key=) is refused with a 400, so it never ends up in logs or browser history.

Read authentication: /documentation/authentication

I lost my key. Can you send it again?

No: a key is shown once and we keep only a fingerprint of it, so nobody can read it back, us included. Make a new key on your dashboard and revoke the old one. You can have up to 5 active keys.

Open your dashboard: /dashboard/keys

How many calls can I make?

Each plan has a limit a minute and a limit a day, shared by all the keys on your account. Every answer carries X-RateLimit-Remaining for the minute and X-Quota-Remaining for the day, so your code always knows what is left.

Read limits and quotas: /documentation/limits

What happens when I hit a limit?

The call answers 429. rate_limited means wait the seconds in Retry-After; quota_exceeded means today's calls are used up until resets_at. You are never charged extra without choosing to upgrade.

Data and coverage

Which leagues and seasons do you cover?

Leagues lists every competition with the seasons it holds and which parts each game carries: results, score by quarter, box scores, play by play and shots. Live reaches the last 12 months; Archive and Complete reach every season held.

See every league: /leagues

Why does a game have no box score or play by play?

Not every league publishes every part of every game. Each game carries has, which says whether its box score, play by play and shots are held, so your code can check before it calls.

Read the game endpoint: /documentation/game

How do I know when a game has finished?

Poll yesterday's results or the games list, or let us tell you: from Live, webhooks call your server when a game you follow ends, with the final score.

Read webhooks: /documentation/webhooks

Do ids ever change?

Ids are kept for good, so you can store them and join across calls. When two records turn out to be the same club or game they are joined into one id, and the changelog says so; find the club again with /v1/teams?q=.

Calls and errors

What does 403 upgrade_required mean?

The endpoint or the date asked for is on another plan. The answer names the plan that opens it in plan, with a link to pricing. Upgrading applies to the key you already have, at once.

Read errors: /documentation/errors

How do I get more than one page of results?

Lists come in pages of 50, up to 200 with per_page. Pass the next_cursor from one answer to get the next page, until it is null.

Read paging: /documentation/paging

Can I use the API from an AI assistant?

Yes. On Complete, the MCP server gives Claude and other assistants tools for games, box scores, standings, players and more, with your key. Any plan can also download the agent skill, which teaches an assistant the whole API.

Set up the MCP server: /mcp

Billing and account

What will I see on my card statement?

Card charges appear as DEVELOPERDATA.NET. For anything about a charge, billing support answers directly.

Ask about a charge: https://developerdata.net/support?tab=charge

How do I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

From your dashboard. An upgrade applies at once to the key you have. After a downgrade or cancel you keep the plan to the end of the period you paid for, then move to the free key; the key keeps working.

Open your dashboard: /dashboard/plan

Can I pay yearly, and do I get invoices?

Yearly billing gives twelve months for the price of ten. Every payment has an invoice in your company's name, ready to download from your dashboard.

See pricing: /pricing

How do I ask for a refund?

Only through the refund form, so it reaches billing with your account attached. It opens a ticket you can follow here.

Read the refund policy and ask: /refunds

How do I delete my account?

On your dashboard, under your account. Every key is revoked at once and your email is removed, with your support tickets.

Open your account: /dashboard/account
